Your tasks
- Be the responsible for the development of brakes and steering systems,
- Specify and implement system architecture, software and hardware requirements for brake and steering control (ESC, ABS, EBD, ADAS, CAN, etc)
- Participate in the sourcing process and manage engineering relationships with suppliers and APQP
- Ownership of safety, regulatory and homologation compliance,
- Coordinate design and development to PPAP and series, including calculations and simulations,
- Establish requirements for components based on the need of the vehicle (safety, dynamics, NVH, ride & handling, etc)
- Keep development documentation updated (BOM, PLM/PDM, CAD, GD&T, legal requirements).
- Work closely with external Engineering Service Providers, controlling milestones and deliverables.
- Work closely with stakeholders and attribute owners across the company (BIW, Interior, Vehicle Safety, NVH, Durability, Manufacturing, Service, etc.)
- Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for components, software and complete vehicle,
- Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment,
- Define Prototype attributes and support vehicle builds,
- Travel domestically and internationally as required
Requirements
- Several years of experience in brake and/or steering system design and development experience at manufacturer or OEM,
- Familiarity with NVH, Vehicle dynamics, durability,
- In depth knowledge of Chassis controls development (ABS, ESC, ADAS, CAN),
- Strong knowledge of safety, regulatory and homologation requirements,
- Proving ground or performance driving experience is a plus
- Proficiency in a 3D CAD software (CATIA is a plus)
- Basic knowledge of GD&T (proficiency is a plus)
- Experience with component design, analysis, and validation
- Comfortable in taking complex decisions with incomplete data,
- BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience,
- Fluent in English. German knowledge is an advantage.
