Your tasks
- Coordinate design and development of chassis suspension components to PPAP and series (rear axle, subframe, lower control arm, tires, wheels, dampers, springs, anti-roll bar)
- Establish requirements for components based on the need of the vehicle (Strength, Durability, Stiffness, Corrosion, etc.)
- Keep development documentation updated (BOM, PLM/PDM, CAD, GD&T, legal requirements).
- Actively support supplier’s development and APQP.
- Work closely with external Engineering Service Providers, controlling milestones and deliverables.
- Drive DFMEA activities,
- Work closely with stakeholders and attribute owners across the company (BIW, Safety, NVH, Durability, Manufacturing, Service, etc.)
- Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities,
- Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment,
- Define Prototype attributes and support vehicle builds,
- Travel domestically and internationally as required
Requirements
- Several years of experience developing suspension components from design to serial production at OEM, ESP or Tier 1 supplier,
- Proving ground or performance driving experience is a plus
- Safe use of CATIA and PDM/PLM,
- Good project management skills,
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and DFM
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, crash, safety, NVH principles
- Familiar to Chassis controls systems,
- Hands-on experience in suspension tuning and prototype assembly,
- Hability to multitask,
- Comfortable in taking complex decisions with incomplete data,
- BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering,
- Fluent in English. German knowledge is an advantage,
- Great interpersonal skills.
