Engineers on the ViPV Team (Sono Solar) are at the leading edge of next-generation Vehicle Integrated solar products. As a CAE Engineer you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing the performance of revolutionary Solar products. The role requires strong fundamentals, a passion to push the boundaries of technology and the tenacity to make designs successful. Our design requirements challenge the limits of physical possibility, which requires you to be extremely detail-oriented in supporting the design engineers making smart tradeoffs. Then please keep reading!Your tasks:- Project responsibility for thermo-mechanical, structural, and fatigue analysis of Integrated Polymer PV Modules
- Development and implementation of procedures, programs, or methods to improve product quality and the results within CAE Engineering
- Development of highly predictive material models and processes to enable good correlations with physical tests
- Provide recommendations based on the analysis, including potential solutions to issues
- Supply input for the creation of component specification, component DFMEA, and other technical design documents in order to provide clear and detailed results including reports, summary sheets, and charts
- Documentation of the CAE-calculation status
- Responsibility for the CAE data structure
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Automotive Engineering or similar
- Proficiency in Finite Element Methods for linear and nonlinear analysis
- In-depth experience with SimScale, Ansys, Abaqus, Hyperworks
- Work experience in Finite Element Analysis of Exterior components in Automotive (Bumper etc) and Fatigue Analysis
- Ability to run Thermo-Mechanical modeling, Quasi-Static, and dynamic strength analysis of structures
- Knowledge of optimization tools and techniques
- Very good Catia skills
- Sound knowledge of materials, production, and assembly technologies for automotive metallic, Electrical and plastic structures
- Good understanding of Automotive systems and fundamental load cases
- You have a natural hands-on mentality and able to utilize a logic driven problem-solving methodology when it comes to any challenge
- You are fluent in English - fluent in German is a plus
